Friday, June 27th, 2025 – Early Arrival & Welcome

Afternoon: Welcome to the Rockies! | Grande Cache Tourism Center

• Early arrivals can settle in, explore local shops, and enjoy the stunning mountain views.
• Stick Horse Construction for youth. Stick horses will be needed for the parade and in a stick horse gymkhana.
• Grab a bite at one of Grande Cache’s charming eateries and prepare for an exciting weekend.

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Grande Cache Tourism Center

7:00 PM | Official Event Opening

• An Evening of Stories & Music: Enjoy an evening with Laura Vinson a legendary story teller.
• Recognizing Local Talent: Celebrate award-winning stories and poems from Grande Cache’s talent.
• Community Narratives: Listen to life stories from locals who call Grande Cache home.
• Meet the Trappers and Outfitters: Stroll through the Grande Cache Trappers Booth and Willmore Wilderness Foundation Exhibit and local artisan’s booths to discover the untamed beauty of Willmore Wilderness Park and the spirit of those who thrived in these rugged landscapes.

Saturday, June 28th, 2025 – A Journey Through History

• Show & Shine – Horse Edition: Bring your finest horse and compete for first place in style and shape.
• Gathering of Parade Participants

9 AM – 11 AM

• Heritage Pancake Breakfast: Start your day with a warm meal and friendly faces.

11:00 AM – 12:30 AM | Grande Cache Tourism Center

• Parade Commencement: Watch a vibrant procession of vintage wagons, horseback riders, and local floats proudly showcasing the region’s heritage and businesses.

• 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Grande Central Park (Rec Center in the event of rain!)

• Community Barbecue: Enjoy an old-fashioned lunch and barbecue.
  1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Cultural & Heritage Activities:
  • Visit an authentic Teepee Experience.
  • Watch a horse packing demonstration.
  • Explore artisan booths and purchase local crafts.
  • Enjoy performances by local drummers, dancers, and jiggers.
• Stick Horse Gymkhana (For Kids!):

• Young cowboys and cowgirls compete in a fun-filled competition showcasing skill and spirit.

• Living History Exhibits:
  • Explore Grande Cache Trappers and Willmore Wilderness Foundation exhibits, showcasing the region’s trapping and outfitting history.
  • View stunning works of art by the Palette Pals, a group of local artists.

• Chili Cook-Off:

• Local outfitters, trappers, and businesses compete in a judged contest to determine who makes the best chili and bannock in Grande Cache. Sample the dishes after the winners are announced!

5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Place to be announced

• Live Music by Laura Vinson & Free Spirit: Enjoy a high-energy performance celebrating the spirit of the Rockies.

8:00 PM | Official Event Wrap-Up

• Farewell & Departure: Say goodbye to new friends and take-home cherished memories of an unforgettable weekend.
• Enjoy a farewell lunch at one of Grande Cache’s cozy restaurants before heading home.

8:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Uptown Street Dance & Beer Fest

• Kick up your heels to lively country music with Chelsea Atkinson.
• Enjoy the Beer Gardens while celebrating under the stars!
