“This is a little treasure just east of the Jasper Park gates. A place nestled in the valley with plenty of trails, riding horses, deer running wild just outside my door. It doesn’t have all the fancy ness of a big hotel, but was comfortable enough to relax and take in the natural surroundings. ”

“My family generally gathers once a year for a 2 night stay at the Black Cat Guest Ranch – we’ve been there in the summer, fall and most frequently – during Christmas or New Year’s. Our group size varies between 10-16 people and this venue is perfect for us. We like to have a couple of days per year to spend quality time with one another – without the regular stresses of hosting, driving, cooking or cleaning…The owners, Perry, Amber and Hillary are wonderful…”

“We are repeat visitors to the Black Cat Guest Ranch and each time is different. Each opportunity to visit is an adventure in itself. Even in June , the rainy month, we found lots of things to do. We did get in one trail ride but mostly we used the ranch as a jump-off point. We visited Miette Hot springs three times. We took in the Columbia Ice fields, a great day trip. And shopping in Jasper one day. Don’t forget Hinton. We walked the Beaver Boardwalk and saw beavers and other wildlife. Too cool to miss.Twenty minutes north on highway 40 is William A. Switzer Provincial Park. If you like canoeing or kayaking then this park is for you. A chain of five lakes joined by Jarvis Creek. Perfect for novice canoers. There is so much available just ask. When we were there the last weekend was a special watercolor weekend. Learning to paint? Check out the next one. They also have Spa weekend s as well. Those are fun.”
